About

What is Towards Da Light?

Towards Da Light is the online version of the Islamic Radio program ‘Towards the Light’ which aires live on Search FM 92.3; the Campus radio station of the Federal University of Technology Minna, Nigeria. The blog seeks to make available to the world vital information that will promote a vivid understanding of the message of Islam with references from Islamic scripture, history and contemporary analysis of our world. The blog features content that will serve as fortification for supporters of truth strengthening them against the machinations of those who malign Islam and Muslims. The blog has no room for sectarianism in other words, Sunnis and Shiites are not recognized; just Muslims and others.

Navigation:

  • Ummah Update: This gives information on global happenings in the Muslim world; both sweet and sour.
  • Talking point: draws the audience to ALLAH and HIS Might. It also showcases convincing evidence from logical arguments as to why Islam is supreme.
  • Seerah: tells touching stories of the companions of Muhammad (SAW) showing the world the very practical nature of Islam.
  • Muslims: highlights the fact that living life as a Muslim is possible in any era bringing to light the activities of Muslims in our era who have Islamically impacted their communities. These individuals could be living or late.
  • Islam247: X-rays problems faced in the world today and gives detailed account of how the implementation of Islam can salvage these situations.
  • Islam Acquainted: happens to be the most integral part of the program and blog. Re-occurring misconceptions about Islam are picked one after the other and refuted citing both scripture and logical argument.

For Muslims, this blog will insha ALLAH not only strengthen faith but also boost confidence to talk about Islam in any circle. For non-Muslims, the blog will prove beyond reasonable doubt that disbelieve in the message of Islam is not a logical option.

Towards the Light is a blend of Islamic knowledge, current affairs and entertainment hence, our slogan; 'Deenfotainment unlimited'

The live (radio) version of the program gives listeners the chance to know their dates of birth in the Islamic (Hijr) calendar by texting-in their dates of birth in the Gregorian calendar. We also give listeners the opportunity to know the meanings of their Islamic names.

It is worthy to note that most Search FM staff, which includes us, are volunteers. In our case, we consider our service Fisabilillah. For a seasoned presentation of the program, we source for funds on our own. We therefore welcome any form of assistance from well-wishers towards sustaining and improving the services rendered at Towards the Light both on-air and online. We also acknowledge the works and contributions of already existing blogs and websites (both Islamic and secular) as our research is greatly assisted by their works (we do not copy and paste).

Audience not in Minna-Nigeria can listen to the program live via online streaming at searchFm923.com.
