Niger state governor (Abubakar Sani Bello)
The Niger state government has disbursed 46 vehicles to judges in the Niger state judiciary; this was made known by the Chief Registrar of the state, Barrister Hamza Muazu.

The registrar disclosed that 20 of the vehicles went to Shari’ah court judges while 26 went to Magistrate court judges.

This he said was intended to ease mobility. Barrister Hamza also disclosed that there are plans to build 5 new Magistrate courts in different parts of the state.

In a letter issue on March 1st 2018, the Magistrates Association of Nigeria and Sharia Judges Association Niger State threatened a 21 day strike if their working conditions were not improved. The jointly signed letter was titled "Letter of Resolution of the Congresses of Magistrates and Sharia Judges of Niger state."

A week later, a sum of N30 million was released by the state government for the wardrobe allowances of judicial officers in the state.

It was however not stated if there were any plans to renovate the Niger state Shari’ah Commission complex which has been in a dilapidated state for close to a decade.

The complex was built in the administration of late Engineer Abdullahi Abdul Qadir Kure, the administration that saw the implementation of elements of the Shari’ah code in Niger state on May 4th 2000.
