Point:
• There are no verses in the Qur’an that shows that being gay is haram
REFUTATION: This kind of assertion can only be made by someone with an insipid knowledge of Islam and who has only looked at the pages of the Qur’an and books of Ahadith (not reading them). The Qur’an is totally clear on this and related issues.
ALLAH says in Suratul Araf: (7:80-84)
80. “And had sent Lot when he said to his
people “Do you copy such immorality as no one has preceded you with from among the worlds [peoples]?
81. Indeed, you approach men with desire, instead of women. Rather you are a transgressing people.”
82. But the answer of his people was only that they said, “Evict them from your city! Indeed, they are men who keep themselves pure.”
83. So WE saved him and his family, except for his wife; she was of those who remained behind [with the evildoers].
84. And WE rained upon them a rain [of stones]. Then see how was the end of the criminals.
From these verses, we see what ALLAH called homosexuals; “CRIMINALS”, then how can the acts of these people possibly be linked to Islam.
Ibn Abbas reported that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: “May Allah curse the one who does the action of the people of Loot, may Allah curse the one who does the action of the people of Loot,” three times.
Ahmad (2915)
In another Hadith, Ibn Abbas reported that he Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: “Whoever you find doing the action of the people of Loot, execute the one who does it and the one to whom it is done.” al-Tirmidhi (1456), Abu Dawood (4462)and Ibn Maajah (2561)
The Companions of the Muhammad (SAW) unanimously agreed on the execution of homosexuals, they only differed as to how they it should be carried out. Some, including Abu Bakr and Ali bin Abu Talib, were of the opinion that homosexuals should be burnt alive while some others like Ibn Abbas thought that they should be thrown down from a high place then have stones thrown at them.
It is narrated that Khalid ibn Waleed found a man among one of the Arab tribes with whom men would have intercourse with. He wrote to Abu Bakr al-Siddeeq and he (Abu Bakr consulted the Sahabah. Ali ibn Abi Taalib had the strongest opinion of all of them, and he said: “No one did that but one of the nations, and you know what Allah did to them. I think that he should be burned with fire.” So Abu Bakr wrote to Khalid and he had him burned.
As for Ibn Abbas's opinion, it was derived from the punishment that Allah sent upon the homosexuals of the people of Loot; they were stoned from above.
To silent the mischief makers, it has been derived from the scriptures that minors and those forced into the act are not to be punished even though minors should be made to face light sanctions.
Ibn Qudaamah narrated in al-Mughni (9/62) that there is no difference of opinion among the scholars concerning the fact that the hadd punishment should not be carried out on one who is not mentally stable or an individual who has not yet reached the age of puberty.
We see from these that the no human being will ever fit the description, 'gay Muslim'. Whoever wants to be a homosexuals will have to find another Faith were the scriptures allow it and then wait for the Decree of Allah.
To say that Islam allows homosexuality is not just a misconception, it is mischief.
