Expresses Outrage at Rohingya Massacre
In a statement issued on Thursday 14th
December, the Malaysian ministry of foreign affairs denounced the actions of
the Burmese government with regards to the killing of Rohingya Muslims in the
Rakhine state of Burma. The Burmese government embarked on a heavy-handed
military crack-down on the marginalized community in the wake of an attack on a
police station on October 9 in which 9 police officers died near the Burmese
border with Bangladesh. Advocacy groups for the Rohingyas have said around 400
Rohingyas were killed, women were raped and Rohingya villages burnt. A Kwala
lumpur rally led by Najib Razak the Malaysian Prime minister was attended by
thousands of Rohingyas main refugees to tell the Myanmar state counselor Ang
San Suu Kyi that “enough is enough”.
