Hero Stands for Jewish Woman in New York
In
a great show of bravery and selflessness, a Muslim teenager Ahmed Khalifa has
assisted the NYPD arrest a vicious enemy of peace. This drama played out when a
man Rayvon Jones,31, walked up to an orthodox Jewish woman who was reading a
prayer book on a train and slapped her so hard that she fell to the ground
unconscious with no provocation. The assailant who is said to be above 6 feet
then fled the train but Khalifa, 17, chased after him and with the assistance
of a man who gave him a lift with his car, the attacker was traced to a bus
station and arrested when the police arrived. A member of Shomrim (Jewish
safety patrol) drove Khalifa home. The victim of the attack was taken to the
Methodist Hospital (already stabilized) with bruises, swelling and a cut on her
lip. When the hero was asked by associates why he stood up for the woman
despite her being Jewish, he said, “everyone is equal. I treat everyone the same way. It was just
something anybody should do. It's not that big of a deal to me.”
It is also worthy
to note that Khalifa who has a 91 average in school stop a homeless man from
committing suicide seven months ago.
